My favorite song

                                                              My favorite song

For me it is hard to choose a song, I have a lot of favorite songs.
It depends on what I am doing and how I feel the music that I listen to.
For example when I am working checking tests, preparing materials for my classes, studying for my master or writing my thesis I need to listen to electro swing.
It gives me a lot of energy, I feel as if I had drunk a thousand rebulls.
When I am riding my bike a listen to pop music, such as when the lights go out (five), I rememeber (deadmau5), In another life (blast flava) and others.
Now I will describe on of the songs that I listen a lot, that song is Barbra Streisand (Duck Sauce)
This song uses a sample from the single “Gotta go Home” (Boney M’s), which also uses a sample of another song “hallo bimmelbahn” (nightrain).
I remember the first time I listened to it. It was when I was in New Zealand. I thought who would ever like this song! It is so repetitive. I used to go clubbing a lot when I was there, and this song was played everywhere! So of course it was impossible not to like it at the end.
When I was there every time that I listened to it I felt happy and energetic but when I listen to it here, sometimes I feel a bit nostalgic. I see how much I have changed. When I was in Auckland I used to work and party 24/7. Here I work, study and party only like once a month because I do not feel like doing that anymore. Maybe there is a time for everything. Don’t get me wrong, I really like my life now but I miss that part of me. The crazy Maca hahaha.
So that’s it my dear students. Those are my favorite songs.

Cheers!

Postgraduate studies

Dear students,

Today the topic is postgraduate studies, please include the following info

Cheers! 😋

Include:

- Reasons to do the course
- Subject(s) you would like to study
- Where you would like to study (Chile or abroad)
- How you would like to study (distance learning, blended system, part-time course, etc)
- Any other relevant ideas

- Make comments on 3 of your classmates’ posts + a comment on your teacher's post.

To be honest when I was studying to become an English teacher, I never thought about taking a postgraduate course. I just wanted to finish and start working as soon as possible! As I told you on my previous blog, I thought I would teach little kids. But since I work with adults now, it is a must to have a postgraduate degree. So that is why I enrolled to a Master program last year.
I am studying a Master in Education, major in English as a foreign language at Universidad Central.  It is a two years program, I am so happy because this is my last semester.  It has been really hard though, I have a class which is English v/s Spanish phonetics. And Spanish is more difficult, believe me! So we are lucky that it is our mother tongue. Also I am working on my thesis, which takes a lot of time. Talking about that, I am going to need your help for it! I will need you to answer to a survey in a couple of weeks. I really hope that you can and want to participate J
Hopefully I will finish this on May. Even though I am really tired, I would like to study again.
A couple of years ago I applied to a Master in Education at the University of Auckland. I got in but of course in order to study there, I needed a scholarship. Every time that I have tried to apply, I forget about a document. Maybe I will try next year again.
I have looked for one year courses that are related to methodology, phonetics, grammar and didactics here in Santiago. I still do not know if I will start studying again next year, but I really hope so.

                                   MY FUTURE JOB

I started working here last semester. I started with one course, level III. It was a really nice experience. At the same time I was working at Instituto la Araucana. I worked there for 5 years. I had a course of students that were studying International trade. I started with them last year, on the first semester. That means that we were together for a year and a half. To be honest, I had a really good time with them. We had classes from 18:30 until 22:00. Even though they were really tired, they were really interested in the class.

I really love what I do, I love teaching and working with adults. I have worked with little kids too. They are adorable, but I prefer to teach adults. I know it is hard to think about a future job, I did not even know what I wanted to study. The options at that time were music teacher, chemist and pilot, yeah pilot!!
Well I took a year off. One of my sisters works as a flight attendance and as a birthday gift; she took me with her to New Zealand. There I met a guy, his name is Daniel. So it was kind of a summer love and when I came back I still had feelings for him. I went to see him during that year 4 times and we started dating.
We talked about our future together so I thought, well why not to study something related with English. I love teaching and I love the Backstreet Boys so there you go, that’s why I am an English teacher now hahaha. I know it isn’t the best reason but now I cannot see myself doing something else.  While I was studying I always thought I would teach little kids but when I finished my studies I got a job offer for teaching adults. I liked the idea of trying something different so here I am.

Hope to continue working like this in the future, I really enjoy this.

I do what I love and I love what I do. :)

Here are some pictures of students that I have had.
